Manual Content:
The RVSM Manual you must submit to your FSDO for approval includes the following information in a standard readily accepted FAA format:
  • Request for Letter of Authorization (LOA) to the FAA
  • Maintenance Program Section
  • Operations Program Section
  • RVSM Critical Equipment List
  • Master Minimum Equipment List (MMEL)
  • RVSM Flight Manual Supplement
  • RVSM Supplemental Type Certificate, Service Bulletin, or Type Certificate Data Sheet
  • Crew Training documents

The International Operations Manual contains the following information:

  • International RVSM Operations Procedures
  • Oceanic Operations
  • Atlantic Operations
  • Pacific Operations
  • Reference Materials
  • Miscellaneous Information

RVSM and International Operations Manual approval time can vary depending on FSDO workload and the responsiveness of all parties involved. We recommend starting the approval process at minimum 60 days before the needed certification if possible. This process can be very involved and you must work closely with the inspector. We will assist you in this process if needed at no charge beyond the cost of the manual. You will receive two (2) identical copies of each manual, an office copy and one that must be kept onboard and also a CD-ROM with associated files. Additional copies are available upon request.
